Home-selling drama coming to a close?

What? Could it be? Yes, my friends. It appears that way. For those of you who have been up-to-speed with us, you are probably just as excited, if not more excited, than we are about this - and if you haven't been up-to-speed, I'll give you a brief summary:

We put our home on the market mid-Feb '09. We had decent traffic during the spring months but never any offers, and from May on things really slowed down. Once we moved out to Las Vegas, my anxiety over not having sold our home spiked, and we have been stewing about what to do about all this for months. To make a long story short, by a miraculous stroke of luck (and an obvious answer to so many prayers and fasts), we happened to have a showing during a 4-day window of time where we were switching/between realtors, and that one showing turned into an offer that we were able to accept via for-sale-by-owner. Clearly this was more than impeccably good timing, it was divine intervention. For several reasons stemming from this unique set of circumstances, we were able to save a large sum of money that would otherwise have been spent on realtors fees, closing costs, repairs, etc. etc. Needless to say, Nate and I have felt utterly humbled and above all thankful.

I can't emphasize enough how grateful we are for the support of family and friends through all of this...for lack of a better word, drama. We have felt your love and support in countless ways, and we would have been lost without it.

So let the countdown to our closing begin! It's set for Aug 22nd (or earlier). Now everybody go knock on some wood that this post doesn't jinx anything. Nothing is ever final in real estate until you sign your life away at closing!
